The Philadelphia Flyers have decided to cut Ilya Bryzgalov from their team by using one of their buyout compliances to pay off the two years remaining on his contract. Despite high hopes in the beginning, Bryzgalov's performance slowly went downhill soon after his signing with the hockey franchise. Alleged reports of poor sportsmanship and problems with Flyers staff and players is also an underlying reasons for the move. As part of the buyout, the Flyers will pay Bryzgalov $1.643 million per year for the next 14 years to not play for them. He will no longer count against their salary cap. At this point the Flyers are on the hunt for a new goalie; hopefully one with good performance and a good attitude.
