San Francisco 49ers defensive end Aldon Smith, is back in trouble with the law in an event that unfolded at the Los Angeles International Airport. Smith reportedly became belligerent and uncooperative with the TSA agent in charge of the screening, and made a comment indicating that he was in possession of a bomb. This event promptly lead to an aggravated stand-off between Smith, his companions, and the TSA. Although the incident is still unfolding, Smith might be facing charges in violation of California Penal Code section 148.1, commonly understood as a bomb-scare. Whether the remark was true or not, TSA authorities take these matters very seriously, regardless of an individual’s status as a celebrity. After being detained for nearly three hours, Smith was released from jail in the evening after posting $20,000 bail.
