Feel like doing something nice this winter holiday season? When was the last time you sent out mail, that wasn’t some sort of check, bill, or financial statement? Really, when was the last time you wrote someone a letter?

This season you can.

Lucas Hoelschar of Springfield, Ohio is a 14-year-old boy who suffers from spinal muscular atrophy type 1. His parents were told that he wouldn’t live much longer after he was born, but has since shown that he is 14 years strong. Lucas really enjoys receiving mail. Friendly letters, packages, and postcards as a simple greeting makes Lucas’ day. Part of his daily routine is to check the mail and read all of the kind words of support that people from all over the country have sent him.

Take a minute and send a quick letter.
